Academic and Sports Excellence Awards

Within the framework of the CEU Program for the Support of Athletes created to ease the dual career of athletes and designed specifically to reconcile their sports and academic career, allowing professional insertion of students once they finish their sports career, CEU has hosted the event “Sports, Excellence and Talent” that has assembled personalities of the world of sports and many students.

Committed to sports and academic excellence as well as to the values related to sports which form CEU’s DNA, such as effort, loyalty and team work, this Program represents the commitment of CEU Universities to join academic education and elite sports and is aimed at increasing employment opportunities of these students.

During this act, organized by Fundación Universitaria San Pablo CEU in collaboration with the General Council for Sports and hosted at the headquarters of Madrid Talent of the Council of Madrid, the Academic and Sports Excellence Award for year 21-22 has been given to the best students of the three CEU Universities and the Centre for University Studies CEU Cardenal Spínola:

  • Ignacio Rodriguez Mazón, player of the Spanish Field Hockey National Team of Universidad CEU San Pablo.
  • Anna Gómez Igual,player of the Women Basketball selection of CEU Cardenal Herrera de Valencia.
  • Andrea de Sentmenat Rivero, Golf University Europe champion of CEU Abat Oliba of Barcelona.
  • Ghizlane El Amrani Tchana, Tennis player of the Centre for University Studies CEU Cardenal Spínola de Sevilla.

During the inauguration of this encounter that has assembled for the first time elite sports from all CEU Universities, the Chancellor of Universidad CEU San Pablo, Rosa Visiedo, has mentioned the good reception of the Program CEU Support to Athletes which academic offer has increased: “in addition to 150 degrees, students can choose among over 120 masters and 7 PhD programs”. Moreover she has pointed out that educating at all levels means caring, this being the objective of the Program which allows students unfold both in sports and studies. Finally, she has encouraged students to continue putting their hearts and souls into each completion and each exam “with passion and enthusiasm, two key elements to develop any activity in life.

Program to Support Athletes

The program where there are actually a total of 100 students of the three universities and the centre of Seville which means an increase with respect to the previous year, shows the growing interest for this Program which prepares athlete students both academically and personally for their insertion in the labour market and walks them through until they find their first job help them to successfully accomplish their sports career.
