CEU students travel to China to learn about new technologies

María Dolores Ardura, student of our university of the Degree in Engineering of Telecommunications System has taken part in the project “The future of ICTs” promoted by Huawei where ten students were chosen to travel to China and stay for 15 days.

The first week, the students received classes of Chinese painting and basic Chinese language in Beijing; and they enjoyed touring around the most emblematic places such the Great Wall or the Forbidden City. During the second week, the students flew to Shenzhen where they could visit the installations of the company and received a course on new technologies ICTs to delve into mobile networks as well as in Cloud Computing, 5G or IoT (Internet of things).

To access to the selection process, the student had to send a certificate with the academic record and the Resume to Fundación Universidad-Empresa, evidence a B2 level of English and send a 90-second video explaining their motivation and reasons for their selection. Afterwards, Huawei professionals made the final choice.

It is worth pointing out that “The future of ICTs” is a project that seeks to reward the differential attitude and talent of ten Spanish students with their trip to China to receive training for two years on innovation and new technologies at the headquarters of Huawei. All of it, in an international and creative environment with students from other countries.

The Degree in Engineering of Telecommunication Systems seeks to offer comprehensive scientific, technical and socio-economic training preparing students for the professional exercise for the development and application of the technologies necessary in communication systems, which support the different services, fix or mobile, and allow their development and evolution.
