CEU UCH International advisory council: innovation, internationalization digitalization for the University of the future

The annual encounter of the members of the Advisory Council of the Global University of the Future (GUFAB for its Spanish initials) with the government team of CEU Cardenal Herrera according to Alfonso Díaz, Internationalization Vice-Dean of the University Centre has had the intention to set the action plan for the next months. The most outstanding one: to work to put students “at the center of the educational experience and to improve this experience”.

This encounter has presented the results of last year’s work and has described the steps to be followed in the work plan oriented to maintain the University on the path of the future. Therefore, they work several strategic lines from the understanding that the context has changed and that the channel through which students receive the information does not limit to teachers. “Therefore we believe that we should connect digital learning and campus experience. Human contact is essential for Universities because thanks to this interaction through inter-personal relationships, we develop the deepest, long-lasting and valuable learning” says Díaz.

The target of building a global campus and of boosting digital transformation

Already over 30% of Degree students of CEU UCH are international and therefore it is necessary to “consolidate the internationalization process in academic experience and services and to this end we will rely on innovation, which permeates each action we initiate in this Institution and digital transformation in which we are already totally immersed”.

The new model focused on the student’s learning experience and on internationalization pays special attention also to the necessary process of digital transformation. This affects university life as a whole from the academic point of view to services. The intention is to encourage data culture for students to receive better orientation and make successful choices.

This encounter has also dealt with international employability which is promoted through instruments such as digital certificates. These allow students to compose a digital CV including transversal skills achieved during university life.
