CEU Universities among the first 600 worldwide

Times Higher Education (THE) has published the results of 2022 World University Ranking, assessing the quality of university institutions at an international level. In this edition of the ranking, CEU Universities, under the name CEU Universities, ranks ninth among the Spanish universities and appears among the first 600 universities worldwide. Unlike in the past edition of THE World University Ranking, with the participation of 1,527 university institutions, in 2022 there have been 2,100 of which only 1,662 have reached the minimum standards to appear in the ranking.

This ranking assesses universities worldwide weighing the results of their activity in five areas: teaching, research, number of quotes of researchers, internationalization of staff, students and researchers and transfer of knowledge in the corporate field. In total, in this edition they measure thirteen parameters from among other fields, surveys to over 22,000 academics. Regarding research, THE World University Ranking has analysed 14.4 million publications and over 108 million quotes in five years.

Outstanding results in research and internationalization

In addition to the ninth position for its global score in all areas among Spanish universities and their ranking between 501 and 600 positions at an international level, CEU Universities outstand also for their results in specific fields analysed by THE World University Ranking. This ranking mainly measures research based on data obtained from Elsevier – Scopus, where the quality of the research activity of CEU Universities is confirmed, among others, by the number of quotes received from articles published by its researchers. In this sense, CEU Universities has ranked second in Spain and 109 internationally.

Also we confirm once more the international approach of CEU Universities that rank fifth at a national level thanks to the high number of international students they receive – over 20% of the total – factor which contributes to internationalization of its educational offer.
