CEU, world reference in University internationalization

The journal El Mundo has published information which under the title “CEU, world reference in University internationalization” highlights that Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera is pioneer in Spain in the implementation of Collaborative International Learning (COIL) programs, a virtual format of virtual exchange where undergraduates from different cultures and origins meet digitally in simultaneous academic sessions to work in a collaborative way on real cases and challenges.

These programs offer all students an international experience “at home” through technology; an initiative that provides also skills to think and work globally, essential for their professional future.

This academic year for example, students from all degrees and different courses have had the opportunity to learn hand in hand and without leaving the class, with youngsters from universities in Argentina, Armenia, Colombia, Chile and Finland working on topics as diverse as those regarding education systems, prevention of foodborne diseases, labour health or our environmental footprint.

Universidad UCH started with six COILs in 2019-20 and in two years they have already taught 50 more. All degrees allow students to take part in more than one experience of this type throughout its university education.

CEU will host the World Forum IVEC 2022

CEU commitment with “internationalization at home” and the success in the implementation of COIL programs has motivated universities and international entities founders of the ‘International Virtual Exchange Conference’, IVEC, to choose it as headquarter for its next encounter.

A milestone in the Spanish university as it is the first time this universities encounter which promote “virtual exchange” is held outside the English field.

This news verifies once more the commitment of Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera to provide its students with international education and the fact is that although CEU UCH has already one third of its students from other countries (which turns it in a multicultural university), the Internationalization Chancellor also promoted some years ago immersion in virtual.
