Expert in Data Protection; a pioneer and à la carte degree for law professionals

Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera (CEU UCH) and the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Valencia (ICAV) have combined their acknowledged teaching experience to offer a post-graduate never seen before in Spain. It is the first flexible program (both in structure and time) on specialized education for lawyers. This pioneer proposal taught online and asynchronously has started with a first program on legal and technological aspects and new legal challenges of the Information Society.

Both this program and all others expected to be offered by both institutions, is structured in increasing order, in workshops, seminaries, University courses, expert degrees and own masters, so students can opt for the workshops or seminaries they are interested in by specific topics related to their professional exercise or otherwise go further in their education. Therefore, attending several seminaries will mean completing one year; completing several courses, the achievement of an expert degree and several expert degrees, a master.

New learning methodology

The first education program of CEU UCH and ICAV on legal and technological aspects and new legal challenges of the Information Society has started with the Expert Degree in Data Protection. And just as in all other programs to follow, students will have the opportunity to choose whether they reach the Master level or rather obtain the Expert Degree and/or others in areas such as e-commerce, intellectual and industrial property, cyber-responsibility and legaltech or if they decide to update their knowledge in specific topics through seminaries, workshops or courses.

Finally, this structure adapts to the pace and order of acquisition of knowledge better suiting the professional needs of lawyers, who will be the ones to decide what they want to learn and when in each program. A new way to receive education adapted to the pace and goals of students.

À la carte expertise

In addition to pedagogical, textual, sonic and audiovisual resources available permanently for students, education programs of CEU UCH and ICAV will include digital and live personal tuitions as well as several activities (in-house or hybrid) oriented to the most applied learning and networking which will be voluntary.

Moreover, as in other postgraduate education offer of both institutions, they will be taught by professionals with renowned experience and there will be a job pool for the best grades.
