II Interfaculty Congress of Educational Innovation

Professors from the three CEU Universities have taken part in this meeting held at Universidad CEU San Pablo last 5th July. The purpose is to propose a discussion, exchange of ideas and reflection on different teaching and learning innovative methodologies.

Commitment to motivation and educational enrichment

The Congress has been conceived with a threefold objective:

  • To increase motivation of students towards learning regardless of their degree or area of expertise.
  • To grow sensibility towards he subjects of learning working on the human dimension of education.
  • To increase the external projection of the University as an institution leader in innovation.

The day before the event there were seven workshops on educational innovation. Some of them were “Kahoot: a continued evaluation tool”, “What can neuroscience do in your class?” “Flipped Learning optimized with Microsoft Forms and Edpuzzle” and “Strategies to teach an absent or hyperconnected student”. The cycle of workshops was closed the same day as the Congress with “Your subject on the palm of your hand (and in the pocket of your students)” and “Transmedia narrative in the construction of innovative educational experiences”.

Throughout this event several innovative educational activities were presented. Strategies for the consolidation of educational innovation were also proposed and it was highlighted the need to encourage research to improve the university educational offer.

The Associated Director of Be-Up Innovación y Personas, José Conejos was the responsible for the opening conference. The different sub-committees chose among over one hundred proposals, 48 communications which were organized in four thematic roundtables and over 60 posters.

The organization of the Congress has been overseen by the Vice-Dean of Professors and Research, Agustín Probanza. It has been directed by the Head of the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Publicity of the Faculty of Arts and Communication Sciences, Laura González-Díez, along with the Professor of Business Economy José Luis Mateu Gordon.
