The PhD Program in Law and Economics of CEU Universities has renewed its accreditation

The three CEU Universities have renewed their accreditation of University PhD of the Autonomous Community of Valencia of the PhD Program in Law and Economics.

According to the present legislation, university centres teaching official degrees and issuing official titles valid throughout Spain have to obtain the authorization of the Autonomous Community. Moreover, it is necessary to count with the approval of the Council of Universities. This body is responsible of certifying that the study plan meets Government standards.

Therefore in order to renew the accreditation it is necessary to verify that the study plan has been implemented pursuant to the memorandum verified, using the appropriate resources as well as the successful accomplishment of the studies by the students. These aspects guarantee the continuity of the degree.

The Agència Valenciana d’Avaluació i Prospectiva (AVAP) has estimated that the implementation of the PhD program in Law and Economics of the three CEU Universities is developed satisfactorily. It is so endorsed by the Provisional Report for the Renewal of the Accreditation of PhD University Education of the Community of Valencia. According to this document, the PhD Program in Law and Economics of CEU San Pablo, CEU Cardenal Herrera and CEU Abat Oliba score satisfactorily in all these criteria:

• Organization and development.
• Information and transparency.
• Internal quality-guarantee system (SGIC).
• Academic staff.
• Material resources and services.
• Learning outcomes and satisfaction and performance indicators.

The positive global appraisal reflects CEU centres’ commitment to quality education oriented to academic excellence. Therefore, the PhD Program provides a reflexive education on the complex legal and economic reality of the present society. Specialization, research and the development of skills are essential for doctoral training. Our students this way attain a position of strength when entering the sector of legal counselling or the corporate and management world being able to aspire to hold management positions.
