CEU UCH at the opening of the course in Chile

The academic year opens in the Southern hemisphere when in the Northern we are about to close it. In the city of Concepción, Chile, its Faculty of Law and Social Sciences opened the academic year on 2 May 2023 with a master class by Susana Sanz Caballero, Professor of International Public Law at CEU Cardenal Herrera University. Professor Sanz, who leads the research project “Crisis of the Rule of Law in the EU” at CEU UCH, entitled her lecture “European disorder or world disorder? The invasion of Ukraine as a case study”.

In addition to opening the course in this Chilean Faculty, the Professor of International Public Law at CEU UCH, Susana Sanz, participated in the meeting of international researchers developing the EU Jean Monnet project entitled “Impact, risks and opportunities of populism in Europe and Latin America”, led by Dr. Paulina Astroza, Director of the Centre for European Studies at this Chilean University. The team is made up of 20 researchers from universities in Chile, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Brazil, Switzerland, Germany and the United States, including Professor Susana Sanz.

With the Chilean Foreign Minister

After the working sessions dedicated to the project, the research team was received by the Chilean Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alberto van Klaveren, and the EU Ambassador to Chile, León de la Torre, at the headquarters of the Chilean Ministry, in a meeting that was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences of the University of Concepción, Rodolfo Walter, and the Dean of the Faculty of Government of the University of Chile, Ariel Ramírez. In this session, the progress of the EU Jean Monnet project led by Paulina Astroza and in which CEU UCH professor Susana Sanz participates, was presented in panel format
