Why to study in Spain

Spain receives nearly 60 thousand foreign students each year, over 70% for degree studies and nearly 30% for Master studies. Over 40% are from Latin America.

It is the third European country of destination of international University students. What makes Spain an attractive country for students who wish to grow with an international career?

Spain is a safe country with one of the lowest EU crime rates and with high quality of life favoured by its climate and the welcoming and open personality of Spaniards. Not forgetting the artistic and cultural richness breathed in all its cities, from the big capitals such as Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia to other cities known worldwide for their heritage such as Granada, Sevilla or Toledo, among many others.

An open door to Europe

The academic quality with degrees known worldwide and the international nature of Spanish universities are two excellent reasons to study a degree or post-graduate in Spain.

Also, Latin American students do not have to worry about the adaptation to the Spanish language or their safety.

Likewise and something very important, some universities such as CEU are an open door to Europe for international students.

Spain, a university country par excellence

Spanish universities are known for their academic quality. In fact several of them such as CEU appear each year among the most prestigious international rankings.

Students find in Spanish universities a varied academic offer in all branches of knowledge with nearly eight thousand degrees in the three levels of Higher Education in Spain: Degrees, Masters and PhDs.

Education in several languages

Without doubt, an advantage for international students is to attend classes in their own language either Spanish for Latin Americans or English for English-speaking students for example, thanks to the broad academic offer in languages offered by some Spanish universities such as the three CEU Universities: Universidad CEU San Pablo, in Madrid, Universidad Abat Oliba CEU, UAO, in Barcelona and Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, UCH, in Valencia.

Another reason that makes Spain an attractive destination for international students is the amendment of the regulation (Law on Foreigners) that will allow over 60,000 foreign students residing in Spain combine their studies with internships insofar as it does not exceed 30 hours per week and is compatible with education which makes it easier to face their own expenses without help.

Why to study at CEU

Aside from these advantages, Universidades CEU add others such as the sound international alliances established with universities and foreign higher education institutions worldwide that offer students from CEU Universities the opportunity to live a full international experience both inside and outside campus.

For example if you wish to study a term in another European country or do an internship in another continent, CEU offers different programs to ease mobility of students. Further information here.

CEU also has the Center for study abroad where students can choose programs in renowned foreign universities to reinforce their international approach, know other cultures and share experiences with students from different countries.

It is the only Spanish institution that offers double-degree university programs at the best US Universities: UCLA, Boston University and Fordham University.  Further information in this link.

In addition to its international vision the three CEU Universities have features in common: their orientation to employability with internships in companies and very high employability rates: education in transversal skills (to lead teams, learn to speak and convince, know to manage time and stress…); educational innovation and applied research.

All activities offered by CEU Universities are based on their firm commitment with the intellectual and moral development of students and take place at their last-generation installations which include audiovisual centres, labs, a vet hospital, chapels and sports premises.
