Students of the final year of Medicine of Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera UCH will enjoy the first programme of scholarships for internships in clinics of the United States, a pioneer initiative in Spain.
Scholars will do three internships rotations in prestigious hospitals and health centres in Chicago and New York with an adapted learning program that will allow the homologation of this education when they return to Spain in February.
Besides intercultural learning, the difference in the CV and the extension of their international networking, this CEU UCH program also opens the door for future doctors to a professional career in the United States as the clinical experience during the Degree at health centres in the country is an outstanding and necessary factor to take the exams for the access to the healthcare system, known as steps.
To New York and Chicago
Beneficiaries of this program of scholarships for clinical internships in the United States are studying the last year in Medicine at the campus of Castellón and Alfara del Patriarca (Valencia) respectively.
“When I saw that CEU offered this scholarship I did not hesitate. It seemed like a unique opportunity to know the healthcare system in that country” says Ana Marzá, student of Medicine of CEU in Castellón. Sandra Gómez, a Medicine student of CEU UCH in Valencia says just the same: “This program is going to help me know a sanitary system very different from the European. I am very thankful to the University for giving me this opportunity; it seems to me a unique experience and I feel really lucky to enjoy it”.

Students receive training to prepare the MIR exam (if they are interested in accessing the Spanish healthcare system) with the academy AMIR.
- Employability
Since third year it offers its students the opportunity to study without cost the University Diploma of Expert in Clinical and Diagnosis Medicine aimed at providing them with a clinical vision of the different areas of expertise as well as to strengthen the basis for a correct clinical diagnosis.
- Practical training of medicine students is reinforced by two Centres of Advanced Clinical Simulation at Campus.
- Internationalization, with students from over 100 countries.
