CEU UCH University researchers, among the most influential scientists, according to Standford

Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera (CEU UCH) professors and researchers Salvatore Sauro, Antonio González de Bulnes and José Luis Nieto have been included in the “World’s top 2% scientists” ranking, which selects the most influential researchers in their respective fields of knowledge, based on their scientific output. Stanford University compiles the “World’s top 2% scientists”, the latest edition of which was published in October 2023.

Indicators such as the number of publications indexed in Elsevier’s Scopus database, citations received or the h-index of each researcher are used to select the most influential researchers in each area from among the almost 7 million active scientists worldwide.

The professor of Biomaterials and Minimally Invasive Dentistry at CEU UCH, Salvatore Sauro, is the main investigator (PI) of the group “Bioreactive dental materials for the regeneration and remineralisation of dental tissues”. With an outstanding international research career in this field, Dr. Sauro chairs the international Dental Materials Group of the International Association of Dental Research (IADR). This is the fourth consecutive year in which he appears in the ranking “World’s top 2% scientists”, which places him among the leading researchers in the field of Dentistry in Spain.

Antonio González de Bulnes López is associate professor at the Department of Animal Production and Health, Veterinary Public Health and Food Science and Technology (PASAPTA) and researcher at the National Institute of Agricultural and Food Research and Technology (INIA), in the field of optimisation of reproduction in large farm animals. In this edition of the “World’s top 2% scientists” he has been selected both in his field of knowledge and in the ranking that recognises researchers for their entire scientific career.

José Luis Nieto Torres has recently joined CEU UCH as a Ramón y Cajal researcher and works in the Cell Repair and Rejuvenation Group of the Faculty of Health Sciences. His current research work focuses on the characterisation of the molecular mechanisms of cell damage and repair with implications for ageing and its associated diseases.
