CEU offers training and job placement for Paralympic athletes

CEU has signed a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) with the aim of facilitating the training and employment of Paralympic athletes, establishing a framework of action for the development of activities aimed at this end, within the CEU Athlete Support programme already in place at CEU universities in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.

Thanks to this agreement, CEU will establish special conditions for the enrolment of athletes in the various training plans available at its university centres (Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona and Seville). Likewise, financial aid will be applied to all those athletes linked to the Committee and the Spanish Paralympic Team, athletes who will be able to request the appropriate academic adaptations when the training calendar is incompatible with the sporting calendar.

This way, the aim is to provide top-level athletes with the necessary facilities to be able to train and build a future beyond their sporting careers. During their sporting careers, it is not easy to combine both responsibilities due to the many hours of training, competitions, travel…

At the presentation and signing of this agreement, the student Miguel Ángel Navarro made clear the facilities that the university offers to sportsmen and women to meet their training objectives and expectations. “Sport is not only a physical activity, but also has a great power to transform society. It is a tool for education in values, for self-improvement and for the promotion of diversity, respect and teamwork. These are principles shared by CEU, which always tries to help all students, so that not only good professionals are trained, but also good people, which is a key aspect in this university, where knowledge and values are transmitted at the same time”
