The AUARA project conceived by an Alumni awarded the National Prize for Marketing 2019

The AUARA project has received the prize to the best social marketing ahead of Fundación Vicente Ferrer and Women’s Secret. In this 11th Edition of the National Prize for Marketing brands as important as Calidad Pascual, Procter & Gamble, Adolfo Domínguez or Havaianas have won awards for their annual strategy. Over 800 executives have met at the award ceremony.

CEU Alumni Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros is responsible for the creation in Spain of AUARA; the first social company certified by the Social Enterprise Mark. The company earmarks 100% of its income to social purposes which are no others than taking part in projects easing access to drinking water and sanitation of communities most in need. Its aim is to bring clean water to over 200,000 people in the next 5 years.

Solidarity, health and environment in a project with plenty CEU values

The mission of our educational group is to contribute to improve society through education. Working to attain academic excellence, committing to educational innovation and educating in values are the main cornerstones of our educational model. In this line, the AUARA project is the perfect match. Its success is undoubtedly an incentive for our students with social concerns.

The three CEU Universities offer the degree in Marketing and Publicity and Public Relations as well as the interesting Postgraduate Degree in Social and Charity Entities. With this background it is possible to orient their professional career towards the sector of cooperation and development but other profiles are also necessary, such as the ones resulting from the Degrees on Health Sciences and Engineering and Architecture.

CEU has wanted to support this social initiative from the outset. We have done it through the CEU project for water during 2017-2018. The whole educational community has committed to collaborate with a gesture as simple as drinking water, for 1,200 students of an Indian school to be able to enjoy healthy conditions at their school. With this proposal we also wanted to educate its participants on the importance of clean water and how lucky we are to have easy access to it.

The Alumni spirit

CEU work does not end when our students finish their studies. That is where the importance of CEU Alumni relies, the group of alumni of our whole educational group. To offer ongoing education, to boost employability and entrepreneurship and to enhance networks with networking initiatives are the main lines of action. Therefore, when an Alumni succeeds, as it is the case of Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros, we wish to share it and also support its dissemination.
