University talent and companies, a winning tandem

Universidad CEU San Pablo successfully held the 5th Edition of its Innovation Weekan encounter focused on employability through activities which join University and Company in order to bring University talent to corporate demand.

Over 1,500 students from the faculties of Economics and Business Sciences, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy and the Higher Polytechnic School had the opportunity to expose their creative ideas which in some cases have given an answer to a need and will contribute to improve society, individuals and companies; a unique event which intention is to become a collaboration ecosystem between university talent and companies.

Mahou, NTT DATA, Naturgy, Telefónica, Pérez Llorca, NTDEnergy, Martínez Echevarría Abogados, Infinity Dimensions, IVECO, Mercedes-Benz or the Official Association of Pharmaceutics of Madrid, OniAd, are some of the institutions which took part in this annual encounter on innovation to propose real challenges to students as well as inspiring speeches, workshops on digital tools, visits to emblematic and innovative sites of Madrid, competitions and even escape rooms.

Moreover Mercedes Benz España, IVECO, NTD Energy and the Town Hall of Madrid took part in this event about “21st century mobility in Spanish cities within the European framework” where experts reflected on the future of cities where energy and sustainability have to go hand in hand.

Different law firms wanted to join this initiative. Thus Martínez- Echevarría proposed the topic ‘Tokenization of real estate. Is it possible?’ and Pérez Llorca through the ‘Design Thinking’ presented proposals for the automation of work processes.

Finally the Higher Polytechnic School carried out several activities. The Faculty of Architecture proposed a challenge: “Design of furniture of new offices of the future” for which students presented different furniture design options for the new offices of the future: flexible prototypes for work environments, relations, encounters, breaks and leisure which do not only encourage working from home but which can also be implemented in homing from work, while in the challenge ‘Lánzate’ (Throw yourself into it) students proposed the creation of an APP with second-hand materials to save in the cost of prototypes. Moreover, it was organized the “Competition of earthquake-resistant structural models”.

In turn, the degrees in Engineering held their Hackaton Game Jam, workshops on robotics and automation, a chess competition or a mathematic escape room.

The students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences took part in a hackaton with the companies Telefónica, Naturgy, Mahou San Miguel, NTT Data or NTD Energy that proposed different challenges and rewarded the best initiatives.
