We take a closer look at the luxury industry ‘made in Italy’

The students of the 14th edition of the official Master’s Degree in Fashion and Beauty Communication (Telva/ Yo Dona) have taken a trip to Milan to learn first-hand about the “made in Italy” luxury industry.

The trip took place from 3 to 5 May. It began on Wednesday with a visit to the editorial office of YO Dona, followed by a fashion shoot with photographer Nicola de Rosa, who immortalised the moment.

On Thursday, a visit was made to the flagship store of the Italian firm Tod’s, which specialises in shoes, bags and accessories. The boutique is located on Via Montenapoleone, the most important street in Milan’s fashion district. The students enjoyed a master class given by the “store manager” who talked to them about the manufacturing process of their well-known “gomminos” and the multiple possibilities of personalising the product, and shared with them some of the indications that are carried out during the “sales ritual”.

Afterwards they visited the multi-brand showroom of the Zappieri group, where they had a master class with Karl Lagerfeld’s “Brand manager”.

The day ended at the “concept store” Corso Como, 10, a multicultural space that has been bringing together culture, art and luxury for 30 years. There we had a guided tour of all the spaces (shop, showroom, bookshop, roof top) with the PR of this unique space, already a reference in Milan visiting also the Gallery of the “Fondazione Sozzani”.

On Friday, the students visited the flagship store of the Italian designer brand Dolce&Gabbana, also located in the “fashion quadrilateral” in Milan. The visit was conducted by the PR of the firm who showed the students the new concept of high-end retail in which it has been intended to implement the DNA of the brand in every detail.

And it ended in Armani / Silos, Milan’s fashion museum dedicated to the designer G. Armani.
