First US Internship Scholarship Programme for Medical Students

CEU Cardenal Herrera University launches the first International Clinical Practice Scholarship Programme in the United States for Medicine and Medicine students at the Castellón and Alfara del Patriarca (Valencia) campuses.

This is a pioneering programme in Spain, which will allow future CEU UCH doctors to carry out internship rotations in prestigious hospitals and health centres in Chicago and New York.

Under this programme, scholarship students will receive funding for three internship rotations in selected hospitals, with an adapted learning programme that will allow for the validation of this training. Thus, on their return to Spain, students will only have to complete the two internships in the centres to complete the practical training of the sixth year of Medicine/Medicine.

In addition, the CEU UCH International Clinical Internship Scholarship Programme guarantees civil liability insurance, which is required for internships in the United States.

Training that opens doors to professional practice in the USA

The Faculty of Health Sciences at CEU UCH is one of the universities in Europe with the highest percentage of international students. Currently, more than 30% of the students enrolled in Health Sciences degrees come from different countries around the world.

In line with this commitment, the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalisation has promoted this programme for clinical internships in the United States supported by a scholarship programme with the main objective of improving the international and intercultural training of medical students.

In addition, participation in this International Clinical Internship Fellowship Programme represents an opportunity to enhance one’s CV through valuable experience in health care in the United States, as well as the opportunity to practice English in the medical environment, and to obtain recommendations and expand one’s network of professional contacts internationally.
