The Faculty of Psychology at the UAO CEU is now called the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences

Universitat Abat Oliba CEU (UAO CEU) has announced a major change in its Faculty of Psychology, which will now be renamed the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. This change has been approved by the Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya, through a resolution published in the Official Gazette.

The change of name is part of a process of expanding the educational offer of the UAO CEU, with a specific focus on the field of health sciences. With the aim of offering comprehensive training, the Inter-University Council of Catalonia (CIC) has given the green light to the processing of four new degrees: Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Physical Activity and Sport Sciences.

In addition to the new programmes, the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences will also include the degrees already taught at the UAO CEU, such as the Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, the Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology, the Master’s Degree in Basic Sciences in Orthodontics, the Master’s Degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, as well as the certificate in People and Organisational Management.

New Dean

The new Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences will be Arcadi Gual, who will be accompanied by Jordi Palés as Vice-Dean. Martín Echavarría, who had been Dean under the previous name, will take over as head of the Department of Psychology.

This change represents an exciting opportunity for the growth and development of UAO CEU in the field of health, as well as a renewed commitment to the training of highly qualified professionals in various disciplines related to people’s lives and wellbeing.
