In the last edition of the World University Ranking by Times Higher Education (THE), a ranking that has been nearly two decades assessing the quality of international university centres, CEU Universities have reached the sixth position among Spanish universities. It is therefore among the first 500 universities worldwide.
In this ranking have taken part 1,527 university institutions from 93 countries assessed in five areas:
- Teaching.
- Research.
- Number of quotes of their researchers in publications.
- Internationalization of staff, students and researchers.
- Transfer of knowledge to business sector.
They measure up to thirteen parameters within these five areas according to the information obtained from interviews to over 22,000 teachers. Also, they have analysed 13.6 million publications and over 86 million quotes of the last five years.
Research and internationalization, the strengths of CEU
In addition to these positions in the ranking according to their global score, CEU Universities have outstand in areas such as research, where they rank first among Spanish universities for the quality of the quotes obtained by scientific publications of its researchers.
As per internationalization of staff, students and researchers, CEU Universities rank fourth at a national level. Their international students reach a 19% average and exceed 30% in the case of CEU Cardenal Herrera.
Also, CEU Universities are found among the ten first Spanish universities in dimension such as the ratio of students vs. teachers (11.5) or the proportion of women and men among its students (63:37).
These results show CEU’s commitment to boost the international vision as well as to promote the research of talent.
