CEU educational group recognised by the Blackboard Catalyst Awards 2020 for its commitment to digital transformation

CEU has been honoured in the category of “Leading the change” for its work in pursuit of innovation and excellence. Blackboard, a leading organization in educational technology applied to learning, teaching and student involvement with these awards recognises those institutions that have implemented practices and technologies improving learning results, students’ performance or academic progress.

Blackboard integration with Alexa in the voice service “Alexa open CEU” has been crucial to obtain this award granted by a multidisciplinary group of experts. Therefore, students may access with their university accounts to Blackboard content through Alexa, which allows checking latest updates of each subject and everything going on in daily university life, including interactions with professors and peers.

According to Lee Blakemore, President of Global Markets in Blackboard, winners outstand for “their commitment to the improvement of educational experience for all students through EdTech and sharing these ideas with the community in general”. He has also declared that institutions such as CEU “inspire us to speed up innovation boosting the success of our students and we are proud of being part of its history”.

The award ceremony will take place during the BbWorld virtual edition, the main Blackboard annual world conference (21^st and 22^nd July). It is without doubt, a well-deserved award to CEU’s commitment to digitalization and innovation, which has been the key for the swift digital adaptation after the closing of educational centres due to the pandemics. Therefore, students of CEU Universities in barely 48 hours were able to resume lessons and continue online with the program as well as to take online exams and continue in contact with professors and other students.
